Vocabulary Vocabulary

I keep six honest serving-men
(They taught me all I knew);
Their names are What and Why and When
And How and Where and Who.
Rudyard Kipling

Learning English but finding it difficult? It is about having the CONFIDENCE to learn, to read, to listen and to speak!

Things to consider when increasing your vocabulary...

EXERCISE ACTIVITY

Students: Your task is to look up the word: CONFIDENCE in your dictionary and also look it up on this website:
http://www.visuwords.com/             confidence

How many related words have you found that are completely new to you?
Are you going to learn some of them? How are you going to remember them?

Example:http://www.merriam-webster.com/thesaurus/confident

"Synonyms: confidence, assurance, aplomb, self-confidence, self-possession"These nouns denote a feeling of emotional security resulting from faith in oneself.
confidence                                       Reading about the word in context:
Confidence is a firm belief in one's powers, abilities, or capacities: "You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you really stop to look fear in the face"
(Eleanor Roosevelt).

I like this feature as it allows you to look at the word in context:   CONFIDENT    and finally:  AESOP'S FABLES
